GDB Fine Arts was founded in 1998, by Georges de Bartha, following an accomplished career as an international art dealer and gallery owner in Geneva and Singapore. Specializing in building Art collections for private Clients and Art Galleries, as well as sourcing individual pieces, Georges' knowledge and extensive contact list enables him to successfully source an array of pieces, ranging from Fine Art, to Contemporary, and affordable, decorative art.

Georges de Bartha, founder of GDB Fine Arts, started his career in the Fine Art market in 1978, working for prestigious auction houses such as Christie's; where Georges was the Expert for 20th Century Decorative Art, before becoming the Director for Switzerland of Phillips Son & Neal, auctioneers.

During his career as an international Art Nouveau and Art Deco expert, Georges co-wrote multiple books and catalogues that are amongst the best on the subjects, and still referenced today by specialists worldwide.

​

Between the years of 1982-1999, Georges was called upon to be the curator of multiple Art collections, for galleries and private Clients.

Amongst these are the Neumann foundation in Gingins, Switzerland, which he established, and the exhibition of sculptures by Edouard-Marcel Sandoz Collection, at the Hermitage Museum in Lausanne.

In 1999 Georges de Bartha opened his first Art Gallery in Geneva, specializing in 20th Century Fine Art, Art Nouveau/Art Deco, 18th Century French Furniture and Objets d’Art.
Creating major exhibitions in Geneva including, amongst others, artists such as Fernando Botero, Félix Vallotton, Le Corbusier, and Russian paintings from the Veteranov collection.

 

In 2008, GDB Fine Arts opened a Gallery in Singapore, bringing coveted European and International Artists to the Far East, as well as expanding the portfolio to Asian Masters and Contemporary Art.

GDB Fine Arts participated in various international Art Fairs, such as BRAFA Brussels, TEFAF Basel and Art Stage Singapore, as well as the Moscow World Fine Art Fair, where Georges was a member of the administration board of the fair, since its creation in 2004. Working as an independent expert, art adviser to an international clientele and art appraiser for, amongst others, the Geneva Courts, Swiss Customs and various insurance
companies, including Lloyds’ of London.

George's passion for Fine Art, and his in-depth expertise, have enabled him to work internationally for Private Collectors, renowned Galleries and Museums, as well as Auction Houses, where his knowledge of Art ranging from 19th Century Masters to Contemporary Art are unparalleled.
